Chelsea Appoints Mauricio Pochettino as new head coach until 2026

Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed by Chelsea after signing a three-year deal to become their head coach.Poch has taken permanent head coach duties from caretaker manager Frank Lampard who had been appointed by Chelsea board to take duties of former sacked manager Graham Potter.

Pochettino will inherit an unstable squad and Chelsea, who have finished 12th will need to sell players this summer in order to give space for new signings.Chelsea will not be playing in Europe next season and there is pressure on the board after a troubled campaign But there is a belief that Pochettino is the man to steady the ship. Poch has come in with his staff which include his No 2, Jesús Pérez, his first-team coach, Miguel D’Agostino, his goalkeeping coach, Toni Jiménez, and his son Sebastiano, a sports scientist.

28/05/2023 was the last day of  caretaker manager Frank Lampard  as Chelsea head coach and today Pochettino has assumed the head coach position at the club.Frank Lampard whished good luck to the new Chelsea manager after a hard fought draw [1-1] against Newcastle at Stamford Bridge

The Argentine will begin his new role on 1 July 2023 on a two-year contract, with a club option of a further year.Welcome to Chelsea, Mauricio!
